This residential project is located in PLS Nagar, Coimbatore, a growing urban neighborhood characterized by its calm surroundings and emerging architectural diversity. The site is situated within a predominantly residential context, offering opportunities to explore openness, light, and privacy in the design.
Designed as a four-story apartment block, the building embraces a clean, contemporary aesthetic with a strong emphasis on glazing and light. The architecture responds to the warm climate of Coimbatore by maximizing natural ventilation and daylight through generously glazed façades, enhancing the spatial quality of the interiors. A key design feature is the use of extruded window frames that project outward from the façade, creating depth, shadow play, and visual interest. These extrusions also help in shading the glazed surfaces, reducing solar gain while framing exterior views. The massing of the building remains compact, while subtle articulations and material contrasts allow it to blend into the surrounding residential fabric without losing its identity. The result is a structure that balances openness and privacy, lightness and solidity, contributing meaningfully to its urban context.
